About Us
The Prince George’s County (MD) Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. is a collection of approximately 125 mothers whose families represent 200+ children ranging in age from 2 to 19. Our singular focus is the leadership, social and emotional development of African-American children.
Founded in 1974, we are and have been visible through our community impact. In our 45 years, we have hosted voter registration drives, food collection efforts, partnerships with local elementary schools, Black history month activities, Fathers’ appreciation events, graduating senior banquets and a variety of other family -focused events. We are especially proud of our tradition of awarding scholarships to high-achieving public high school graduates. Our signature Catalyst Awards Luncheon celebrates local women leaders and is also the vehicle that raises money for our scholarship fund. To date our scholarship awards total more than $100,000.
